I saw the jacket below on Friday at the Hudson's Bay Company store near the Eaton's Centre.
It is evidently a stylishly made jacket, but using a camouflage print. Bizarre and definitely made for the hipsters out there.
Hipsters that want to look tough, but still dress stylishly...
I think it looks lame. Anyone who buys a jacket like this needs to have their head examined.
I suppose it would be okay if your name was Don Cherry, but if it is not then you have no business dressing like that.
If you are into hunting, you are in the military (or former military), or you are some kind of protesting hippie / anarchist, then you could wear camouflage like that - possibly even the jacket below if you want the more posh look while you are out hunting deer, moose, elk, etc.
But if you are not knee deep in snow covered bushes, not carrying a loaded weapon, not carrying deer hunting tags - well then stop wearing camouflage. Then you are not fooling anyone. You just look lame.

Mark's Work Warehouse doesn't honour its sales
The sale was "save up to 50% off all men's regularly priced outerware."
An outdoor work vest is obviously outerware. It is basically a sleeveless jacket.
And judging by the price it was definitely "regularly priced". No discounts whatsoever.
So why was it not on sale? Because it is a vest? Because Mark's Work Warehouse doesn't consider an outdoor vest to be outerware?
Rubbish!
They just don't want to honour the wording of their sale.
So now they get this negative review and I will be back on Sunday to return it / demand a refund. Or maybe they will be tempted and shamed into giving me the sale price.
Subscribe to find out what happens next!
UPDATE - Yesterday I argued politely with the staff (I have been through this before and know you never get anywhere with staff if you are rude to them), they admitted the wording could have been better, but they still refused to honour the wording of the sale. Returned the item for a full refund. Staff was very rude and snarky about it even though I explained the problem in a calm and evenly toned voice (although I might have sounded a bit condescending, like I was talking to a little kid who can't do basic math). Not much Christmas cheer there either.
If any Mark's executives read this, it was the Mark's Work Warehouse located at the Eaton's Centre.
So word to the wise, if you want a place to honour their sales, don't shop at Mark's Work Warehouse.
For future reference here is Mark's Customer Service info if you have a complaint about their service / lack of honour.

Lucky Brand leather jacket, plus Marina Sport
During my shopping yesterday I passed by the store Lucky Brand in the Eaton's Centre and saw a men's leather jacket that I liked.
So I went inside and had a closer look. Twas $449.99.
It was very close to what I was looking for. A dark brown leather jacket that I could wear while doing archery in the Spring and Fall.
Similar to the jacket shown here on the right, which is also from Lucky Brand.
Lucky Brand only has two stores in Toronto...
1 at the Eaton's Centre and the other 1 at Yorkdale mall.
However since I had already predetermined that I wanted to shop around and find the "perfect jacket" I instead made a note of the brand and kept looking.
Also while I am noting things, I want to point out that most stores don't sell jackets in the summer. Waste of space from their perspective. I even had a chat with a clerk on the topic yesterday and while I agree for most stores it is a waste of space, having them available for the people looking for them in the office season still makes good logical sense.
After finishing my shopping I hung out with my girlfriend and showed her the new Private Member Black and Red Striped Shirt I had purchased earlier. And I mentioned my search for a new leather jacket.
And then she mentioned that she had purchased a similar leather jacket to my description for her ex-boyfriend years ago and how it was brand new, tried on once, had been too big for her ex, and how after they had broken up it had remained in the closet on a hanger for the longest time - awaiting a Prince Charming who could fit it just like Cinderella's slipper.
And wouldn't you know it, it fit me.
And it is the right colour, design, shape, etc for my needs. Whoddathunkit?
Which means I should now talk about it.
It is an Italian leather jacket from a company called Marina Sport. I have been unable to find a photo that is an exact copy of the jacket online, but I did find a Marina Sport leather jacket which is similar. At some point I shall take a photo of me in the new jacket and post it on here.

Aviator Jackets
I think Aviator jackets are just plain kewl.
I dunno, its like a strange combination of retro militarism and a like of aerial fashion.
To be fair, I just like retro things in general. Not quite steampunk, but retro fashion and items. Pocket watches, old six-shooter pistols, suspenders. Retro fashion is kewl in so many ways.
Take for example Amelia Earhart - feminist icon and aviator.
She looks absolutely dashing in her jacket. And don't forget posing next to the plane. Huzzah!
Thus a website like landingzone.com is great if you're looking for a dashing looking jacket and love that retro adventurous feel. The site has a variety of different styles of aviator jackets and also a guide that helps you pick the jacket that is the right size for you.
Now for women there is actually a lot more variety of aviator jackets available. Many different styles to choose from. For example the one below is a crinkle cut - which is designed to look weathered. (I bought a backpack once which had the same effect. Everyone was always asking if its dirty and why I don't clean it and I have to explain that is the design.)
And then there is the extra furry designs. Extra faux fur around the neck to make the person feel like they're wearing a fur coat instead of a bomber jacket.
Some jackets will also have more of a motorcycle feel to them too. I think its all the black and the slim fit.
And then there is brown - my favourite. And my reasoning here is that for whatever reason brown jackets look older. Shiny black looks TOO NEW in my opinion.
Now of course, how is an aviator jacket different from any other jacket or coat you might purchase?
Well lets see... There is:
Trench Coats - Also retro, great if you like the Maltese Falcon and film noir. Comes with buttons and a built-in belt.
Chesterfield - Like a trench coat, but with no belt. Uses buttons instead. Looks rather boring.
Duffel Coat - Usually comes with a hood and funky buttons. Reminds me of the new Arrow tv show for some reason, even though Green Arrow's hood and jacket are pretty different.
Polo Jacket - Also like the trench coat, and also uses buttons. TWO rows of buttons. Again, it looks rather boring.
Parka - Really warm, but really only looks right if you live in Alaska or northern Canada.
Pea Coat - A design originally worn by sailors. Fits snugly.
Wrap Coat - More like a trench coat, but with zero buttons at all.
Military Trench Coat - Shorter than the standard trench coat, and has lots of buttons like a Pea Coat.
Cape Coat - Really only looks good on women. It ends up looking a bit like a poncho.
Poncho - Ponchos rock!
Toggle Coat - A bit like the Duffel coat because of the funky buttons, but not made of duffel fabric.
So there you go!
Feel free to contrast and compare, but lets be fair: Very few jackets are as kewl looking as aviator jackets.
