Someone should invent Winnie the Pooh fragrances...
They should be called "Eau de Pooh for Women" and "Eau de Pooh for Men" and should smell as follows:
"Eau de Pooh for Women" - Flowers, honey and frolicking (a light feminine musk).
"Eau de Pooh for Men" - Flowers, honey and bear hugs (deep musky smell).
Just sayin'.
There is actually a Winnie the Pooh fragrance, but it is not called "Eau de Pooh". And doesn't smell like the smells I described... and regardless of whether the bottle says "for men" or "for women", I am pretty sure it is for kids.

Men's Degree Antiperspirant
Ah, free samples.
Free samples are great for someone who does product reviews.
They give you this little tiny sample in the store - which is good for maybe a week - and then after the week is done you get to review it. Or in the case of a regular customer, you decide whether you liked it or not and want to buy more.
In which case sometimes the free sample has a coupon on the back. Like my little sample of Men's Degree Antiperspirant does, a 50 cent coupon on the back of it.
In this case however I will NOT be using the coupon - because I did not like the product.
Why?
Too sticky. Felt completely uncomfortable on my armpits.
Wore off too quickly too. If it can't do a 3 hour stretch outside without reapplication it isn't doing its job.
Also I have a hunch it contains aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly - which is carcinogenic and causes lymph node cancer (lymph nodes are glands which control the sweat to your armpits). The chemical is commonly used in antiperspirants despite numerous lawsuits.
So yeah, one more reason not to buy Men's Degree Antiperspirant.

Nubalance Lavender, Vanilla and Aloe Handsoap
I use a handsoap in my bathroom called "Nubalance" - which is scented / made with lavender, vanilla and aloe. It is in a liquid dispenser bottle.
And it is awesome. Unfortunately I cannot find it in stores any more (or online) so I am looking for a replacement soap which contains the combination of lavender, vanilla and aloe.
I am a fan of lavender soaps in general, but sometimes it is tricky to find specific things in terms of combinations. Below is a photo of homemade lavender and vanilla soap - but I don't think there is aloe in it.

Vegan-Friendly Hair and Body Products + Aveda Institute
FASHION - Okay now I am not a Vegan myself, but I can at least appreciate the concept of a company that goes out of their way to make products with zero animal biproducts in it.
Frankly the idea of putting dead animals in my hair is rather gross.
Thus hair and skincare products made purely from plants and flowers is rather kewl. Much better than petro-chemicals too.
So I say KUDOS to any company that goes all natural with their ingredients.
The silly thing is that soap is soap. If it gets you clean (as per the Kermit the Frog video below) it has done its job. Also for the prices being charged for shampoos and other soaps paying the tiny bit extra for one that doesn't contain animal biproducts sounds like a pretty good deal.
In other news...
The Aveda Institute of Canada is offering five full hair school scholarships to their hair schools in five different cities across Canada (Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto).
To win, a contestant must submit an amazing video explaining why they are "Born to Style". Winners will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges. The Aveda Institute is a top hair school that trains hair stylists for films and the fashion industry.
These pros do the best work that graces the covers and editorial pages of the world's biggest and best fashion magazines. See the Aveda Institute Flickr page to see more of what they do.
And even if you don't win the contest, just think. If you are looking for a hair school in Vancouver or a hair school in Winnipeg then why not go for the best?

Old Spice 3 in 1
Shampoo, body wash and shaving cream... all in the same bottle?
What is not to love?
Seriously, its useful for camping trips, vacations, visiting the girlfriend's home and even day to day use.
And it smells nice.
Note: I am a shampoo fiend... part of is just experimenting with finding a shampoo I love, part of it is I can't resist the differently shaped bottles.
Historically my favourite shampoo is St Ives, but sadly that is no longer on the market.
